Being happy in life, like everything else, is often times simply a question of perspective. If you are going through a rough time or just having a bad day, it is likely that your attention is on all the negative things that are going on around you. Maybe you are even misinterpreting neutral experiences as (such as something someone said) as being negative. A good way to pick up your mood, as well as your level of gratitude, is to focus on all the big and small positive things in your world.
